The Company with its associates has been involved in several projects and here are some of our recent projects To conduct an assessment of the possible impacts of the projects on the environment and the related social impact assessment including preparation of detailed Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, and Environmental and Social Management Plan and Undertake resettlement action plans

Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA)

Environmental Environment and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the proposed construction of the 132kV Ntinda substation and 400kV Karuma-Tororo double circuit transmission line (346 km) and associated substations.

This project is planned to evacuate power from Karuma Hydropower plant to the proposed 400/220kV Uganda – Kenya Border substation. This line will serve as an alternative 400kV route for evacuation of the Karuma HPP. The Uganda Electricity Transmission Company (UETCL), has a current project under construction at 220kV coordinated under the Nile Equatorial Lakes Subsidiary Action Program (NELSAP) umbrella however, Uganda’s neighbouring countries opted to construct their initially planned for 220kV interconnector at 400kV, keeping future demands under consideration.

Environmental and Social Impact Statement (ESIS) for the Proposed Tororo Transmission System Upgrade and Extension Project

The proposed works are to be undertaken at Tororo substation located along Kampala – Tororo Highway in Katerema village, Osia parish, Rubongi Subcounty, Tororo district

The project is aimed at upgrading the transmission system as a way of improving the national grid system reliability, efficiency, and economical operation through reduction of losses in the existing distribution grid; providing efficient transmission infrastructure to meet the energy needs of Ugan-da’s population for social and economic transformation as laid down under NDP III and Vision 2040 and intended power exports; and improving the standard of living for the population by providing an adequate amount of electricity needed for further industrialization, better health, education, and communication infrastructure.

Environmental & Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of Proposed Peat Mining Project in Rubanda District

Peat is the surface organic layer of a soil, consisting of partially decomposed organic material, derived mostly from plants, that has accumulated under conditions of waterlogging, oxygen deficiency, acidity and nutrient deficiency.

The Environmental & Social Impact Statement (ESIS) for the proposed construction and operation of Jinja Combined Heat and Power Project, Njeru Municipal Council, Buikwe District

The overall objective of the ESIS is to inform the project developer, stakeholders and decision-makers about the likely implications of implementing the proposed project, including potential environmental and social risks and impacts and potential measures to mitigate and manage those risks and impacts.
